🧑🩰Professional Ballet, Modern/Contemporary- & Jazz Dance Classes for Kids, Teens & Twens
Starting this October, Balance 1 Academy offers new dance classes for children, teenagers and twens: Ballet, Jazz, and Modern/Contemporary Dance — playful for younger kids, more advanced for teens and twens.
Classes take place at Villa Balance, our dance villa in Berlin-Tempelhof, just a short walk from the Kaiserin-Augusta-Straße and Ullsteinstraße U6 stations — also easy to reach from Mariendorf, Schöneberg, and Kreuzberg.
The Ballet- & Dance School is part of Balance 1 Academy, which has also run a recognized vocational training program in Contemporary Dance since 1996. Children and teenagers now train in the same studios as our full-time dance students.

Before our official launch, we invite you and your child to a free Grand Opening & Welcome Day on Saturday, September 19, 2026. You'll get to see our studios, experience Villa Balance, and meet our dance educators — Adriana Mancuso and Dioni Birmpili — in a live class.

Kids Ballet & Tweens 7 years and up
A structured introduction to classical ballet: technique, posture, and movement, taught step by step and adapted to each child's age and level.
Ballet classes for 7-10 years
Tuesdays, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Thursdays, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Ballet classes for 11-14 years
Tuesdays, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

Ballet Teenager 15 years up & Twens
For those looking to deepen their ballet technique: posture, strength, flexibility, and musicality. Ideal preparation for entrance exams into professional dance training.
Ballet for Teenager & Twens
Wednesdays, 6:15 - 7:45 p.m.
Fridays, 6:15 - 7:45 p.m.
Pointe work (only with sufficient prior knowledge, as assessed by the ballet teachers beforehand)
Kids Jazz Dance, Tweens, Pre-Teens 7 years and up
Jazz dance technique, rhythmic movement sequences, jumps, turns, and performance elements — building confidence and stage presence while having fun.
7-10 years:
Fridays, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
11-14 years:
Fridays, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Jazz Dance Teenager 15 years up & Twens
Jazz dance fundamentals and technique: coordination, body tension, jumping technique, turns, and rhythm — with a focus on expressiveness and stage presence.
Thursdays, 6:15 - 7:45 p.m.
Modern Dance 7 years and up & Tweens
New movement possibilities for children ages 7 and up: creativity, self-expression, and body awareness as a foundation for further dance training.
7-10 years:
Wednesdays, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
11-14 years:
Wednesdays, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Modern / Contemporary Dance Teenager 15 years up & Twens
Combines elements of classical modern dance technique with contemporary movement styles.
Tuesdays, 6:15 - 7:45 Uhr
🏷️ Dance classes fees per month
The dance classes are offered on a contract basis.
1x 60 minutes 50,- Euro
2x 60 minutes 85,- Euro
3x 60 minutes 130,- Euro
1x 90 minutes 60,- Euro
2x 90 minutes 102,- Euro
A flat rate can be arranged for more than 4 classes per week.
🎭 Public Performances
Children, teenagers, young adults - regardless of age- want to be able to showcase the skills they’ve learned in public.
That’s why annual performances for all age groups and classes are a regular part of our schedule!
📍Location Balance 1 Ballet & Dance School
Balance 1 Ballet & Dance School Berlin is located in southern Berlin near Tempelhofer Hafen (harbour of Tempelhof) and is easily accessible via bus 170 (Colditzstr./Ordensmeisterstraße) and the U6 subway (Kaiserin-Augusta-Straße or Ullsteinstraße).
Bicycle racks are located in front of the main entrance to Villa Balance.
With the reopening of the dance studio, our former BalanceDanStudiOne is being brought back to life after the ballet studios and facilities of the dance villa underwent extensive renovation and expansion over many years. Today, Villa Balance is home to some of the most beautiful dance studios in Berlin!
🏫🎈Balance 1 Ballet & Dance School Grand Opening Day
Grand Opening Welcome Day will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2026.
If you are interested, please pre-register by email (link below), indicating the age and the course you are interested in, so that we can plan the day optimally for everyone.
3:40–4:00 PM: Ballet (ages 7–10)
4:00–4:20 PM: Modern (ages 7–10) and Jazz (ages 11–14)
4:20–4:40 PM: Ballet (ages 11–14) and Jazz (ages 7–10)
4:40–5:00 PM: Modern (ages 11–14) and Jazz (ages 15 and up)
5:15–5:35 PM: Ballet (ages 15 and up)
5:40–6:00 PM: Modern (ages 15 and up)
If you don’t have dancewear yet, please bring form-fitting athletic clothing, such as a swimsuit. For ballet and jazz, you can practice in socks, and for modern dance, you can practice barefoot. Hair should be tied back (a ponytail is fine for this day).
